Lines left where skin grew faster than it could stretch

Stretch marks are scars in the dermis, formed when skin is stretched faster than its collagen can keep up — pregnancy, growth spurts, weight change, muscle gain. They start red or purple and fade over time to pale silver.

Treatment works by injuring the area in a controlled way so the skin rebuilds the collagen it lost. Needling and fractional resurfacing both do this, over a course of sessions rather than one.

Be realistic about this one: the aim is to soften texture and reduce how much they catch the light. Older, white stretch marks respond less than newer red ones, and nothing removes them entirely.
